A Historic Weekend at Haverford: Team Argentina Fields Full Men’s and Women’s Rosters

Team Argentina regrouped once again—this time for a historic appearance at Haverford College. With the continued growth and recognition of Argentine lacrosse, new players joined the women’s roster through their Argentine heritage, creating the largest women’s team to date. Excitement filled the air as new members were welcomed and returning players reunited to begin the four-day weekend of training and competition.

With the support of friends, family, and volunteers, the men's team also successfully assembled a full roster, marking a significant milestone for the program. For the first time, Argentina Lacrosse proudly fielded full men’s and women’s teams in a tournament—a powerful display of the sport’s growth and national pride. Though competing separately, both teams stood united in spirit, supporting one another throughout the weekend and representing the passion and heart of Argentina.

Fueled by “la hinchada mejor”—the best fan base—both teams brought unmatched energy and commitment to each game. The women’s team faced the challenge of integrating new talent and adapting to fresh strategies, but embraced it with resilience. Their ability to quickly bond on and off the field played a crucial role in their growth and performance throughout the tournament.

After a weekend of back-to-back lacrosse and relentless effort, both teams wrapped up the event with a celebratory potluck. Featuring, of course, a team favorite: hundreds of empanadas. It was a fitting and joyful close to a weekend filled with teamwork, determination, and historic firsts for Argentina Lacrosse.

This unforgettable weekend would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the parents and friends who stood by both teams. Their dedication and encouragement played a vital role in the success of the event, as both the men's and women's teams continued to grow and improve with each game.
