First Official Training Camp: A Weekend of Teamwork, Culture, and Competition

January 2023

With an official roster of women representing Argentina Lacrosse, the time had come to begin focused preparation. Traveling from across both the United States and Argentina, the team gathered for its first official training camp in Miami, Florida. Tremendous support from local families provided reliable housing and coordinated transportation, creating a welcoming and well-organized environment for the players.

Though brief, the three-day camp was packed with purpose and energy. Players arrived on Friday and reunited over a long-awaited team dinner at a local Argentine restaurant. Fueled by milanesas and mate, the team prepared for a full day of training ahead.

Saturday was dedicated to on-field practice sessions and strategic planning, laying the foundation for team chemistry and gameplay. That evening, the squad, though physically fatigued, regrouped to cheer on River Plate alongside local fans at Chase Stadium—an unforgettable cultural moment that further bonded the team.

On Sunday, with the help of a few local players to round out the lineup and ensure minimal substitutions, the team faced off in a friendly match against a local college. Displaying grit and determination, Argentina secured a victory with a decisive final goal. The weekend concluded in true community spirit with a celebratory post-game potluck shared among players, supporters, and families.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all our fans and volunteers who made this weekend possible. Your generosity and enthusiasm continue to propel Argentina Lacrosse forward!
